Scenic tours

Full day tour of Alotau & Environs

Frangipany flowersVisit the historical locations of Alotau, telling of its development and significance during WWII. Includes lunch. K40 per person for up to 10 persons including lunch.

Tour of Eastcape & Bewa

Dingy moored at Eastcape 56km drive from Alotau town along coast taking in sights of locally built Hamlets, scenery and activities by local people. At Eastcape, visit the local market and take in the leisurely lifestyle. Enjoy the local cuisine and seafood.

Then drive 10km back to Bewa, an isolated private beach front with bungalow. Take a refreshing swim, snorkel on the reef an cook on the fire. You may choose to either camp at Bewa or return to Alotau.

Tour of Keleton Island

5 mins by dingy from mainland and you find yourself on this isolated serene island. You can enjoy a swim, snorkel, bushwalk or just soak up the sun and sea.

Diving & fishing

The diving around Milne Bay is among the best in the world. Learn to dive or take a tour of our diverse marine environment. The fishing is also excellent in the Bay, and provides a great way to unwind. Please contact us for rates provided by local tour operators.

Bush trekking & waterfall walks

Only a short drive from Alotau, take a peaceful 30 min walk through the rainforest to visit a beautiful waterfall. There you may swim and relax over the included lunch. K20 per person.

Canoeing & snorkeling

An outrigger canoe on the beach Learn to paddle a local canoe and snorkel around the beautiful coral reefs. K20 per person including lunch.

Boat trips

Starship and other local operators run regular trips to the stunning islands outside of Alotau, including Samarai (former town under colonial rule), Suala and Nuakata.
