Getting here
Transport to Alotau is either by air or sea, as there is no road access
from Port Moresby. We provide a free bus service between the airport/town and
Bayviews Apartments.
Alotau by air
Air Niugini run nine flights each week to Alotau from Port Moresby's Gurney Airport with Air Niugini. We suggest one of the afternoon flights as taxis will be available and Gurney Airport will be more populated.
Alotau by sea
Starship provides a service between Alotau and Port Moresby at the end of each month. The trip takes about a day and is both scenic and cheaper than traveling by air. Note that unless you are planning to stay for a month, you will need to travel by air in one direction.
Directions to Bayviews Apartments
If you have your own transport, here are directions to Bayviews from the town centre. If in doubt, feel free to stop and ask a friendly local for directions.
- Locate the T-intersection opposite the war memorial on Charles Able Rd (main Alotau road). Turn up the hill at this intersection.
- Continue up the hill, past the water tank (on left) and turn right at the next intersection.
- Continue to the end of this road and turn left.
- Bayviews Apartments is on your right.
